Dr. Cortese is a native of Rochester, attending Aquinas Institute. In 1988, he was one of the first orthodontists in the greater Rochester area to become Board Certified, a step beyond the three years of advanced education required for a dentist to become a specialist in orthodontics. Only one third of all U.S. orthodontists are certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, making Dr. Cortese an invaluable addition to our team and patients.
After receiving his undergraduate and dental degrees from the University of Buffalo, Dr. Cortese completed a residency in the U.S. Army in Germany. He returned to Rochester to practice general dentistry for eight years before returning to Columbia University to receive his post-graduate degree in orthodontics in 1971.
